HLA–DR7 is fairly common antigen present in approximately 14% of Indian population. It is associated with Graves’ disease, Minimal change glomerulonephritis and some cases of Rheumatic fever. HLADR7expression is linked to T.cruzi infection with cardiomyopathy / Chaga’s disease. It may also be expressed in cases of Sclerosis/ lupus associated antiapolipoprotein antibodies.
